Background Although large numbers of commercial holsters were manufactured and sold, the commercially manufactured holsters for the pistols are difficult to find these days and the reasons for this are quite simple: Also, commercial holsters were generally not as well made as the military holsters, therefore they deteriorated rapidly. Abercrombie and Fitch dealt with two firms who produced their holsters: Heiser of Denver, Colorado out of business and K. The surviving holsters are even more so. The article layout is presented as information and items were located and identified. The belt loop has come apart from the back of the holster and is included for an easy repair. Also, the patent date is stamped on the bottom of the grips and it appears to read, “Pat June 5 ” but the numbers are very worn. I am especially uncertain about the last digit 7.

The picture attached here was taken the day I got the gun. It has since been cleaned up but it still has wear on the finish. However, the action is tight as can be and everything is smoot as silk in operation. The cylinder is tighter than most brand new revolvers and it locks up beautifully.

This first company was called the Volcanic Arms Company and their product was a lever action repeating pistol that served as the basis for later lever action rifles like the Henry and the Winchester.
